Wilbur, in Crystal Lake, Mrs. Louisa Pierson Brown, in the 88th year of her age. Louisa Pierson was born in Orange County, N.Y., Oct.. 29, 1810. She was married to Benjamin Brown, who died in 1875. The greater part of her life was spent in the city of Buffalo, N.Y., from which place she removed to Crystal Lake about fourteen years ago, where she made her home with her daughter up to the time of her death. Mrs. Brown leaves one sister, Mrs. Susan B. Loveridge, of Buffalo; one son, Robert S. Brown, of Washington, D.C., and one daughter, Mrs. J.H.Wilbur. Possessed of an exceptionally amiable and cheerful disposition, Mrs. Brown's last years were marked by a serenity and contentment which made her presence a blessing to her children and grandchildren. although physically quite feeble during the last years of her life, so that she was confined to her room, her mind remained clear to the last, and her accustomed cheerfulness crowned the closing hours of her long christian life. Having nobly filled her place as a christian wife, mother and neighbor, she gently fell asleep, leaving all who knew her to feel that "the memory of the just is blessed." The funeral services were held in the congregational church at Crystal Lake, Friday, Feb. 4, Rev. S.C. Hay, of Woodstock, officiating, and the remains were interred in the Crystal Lake cemetery.
