Mr. & Mrs. Ford have the sympathy of many friends in this, their bereavement. Mr. Burton was a fine man. They came to this place in 1857, from their early home. In 1867 his wife died and the following year he moved to Missouri, then to Arkansas, and subsequently to Nebraska where he made it his home with his son Chas. His remains were brought to Crystal Lake for burial, Dec. 24, 1889. The funeral services were held in the Cong'l church at 10 o'clock a.m., on the 24th, inst. Rev. Wright preached the sermon from Rev. 14-13. Mr. Burton was an earnest and consistant christian and was greatly respected by all who knew him. He was modest, yet fearless and never hesitated to rebuke wrong, or to speak a word for the master. The church has lost a valuable member, the Country a good citizen, and the family a noble father. But he rests from his labors and his works do follow him.
