Najah Beardsley is Called by Death
Word of the death of one of Crystal Lake's pioneer residents--Najah E. Beardsley--came Monday when F.W. Covalt received a telegram from J.E. Beardsley stating that his father passed away last Saturday, Dec. 21, at his home in Marshall, Mich.
Mr. Beardsley, who was about ninety-seven years of age, had been in poor health for the last two years, but previous to that time he enjoyed a physical and mental alertness most unusual for one of his advanced years. He was one of the pioneer residents of this community, but some fifteen years ago moved away, and for the last few years has been making his home with his son J.E. Beardsley, at Marshall, Mich.
The remains will be brought here for burial, and funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at two o'clock Thursday afternoon.
All of the older residents of the community knew Mr. Beardsley as a man of highest integrity, always interested in civic betterment and prominent in local politics, and the many friends of the family unite in expressions of sympathy over the passing of this true pioneer.
