DIED--Jan. 11th, 1886, at the residence of her daughter Mrs. C.C. Pettibone, in Nunda, Mrs. Lucy Rowley, an old resident of Nunda, aged 86 years, 8 mos. and 14 days. She had no particular disease, only a simply wearing out of the body.
The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Happel, of Woodstock, in the Baptist church at Crystal Lake, Wednesday forenoon, and the remains interred in the Cemetery there.

Mrs. Lucy Ann Rowley died at Nunda, McHenry Co., Illinois, Jan. 11th, 1886, aged 86 years.
Her maiden name was Vaughan, and she was born in New ??, Columbia County, N.Y. She was the widow of Amos Rowley, who was a native of Big Flats. After their marriage they resided for ten years at Big Flats, and them removed to a farm Mr. Rowley purchased a mile and a half above the village of Addison. There they resided until 1864 and after a years residence in "Sing Sing" in the town of Big Flats, they removed to Illinois, and bought a farm at Crystal Lake. All of their ten children going with them except three. The parents were members of the Baptist Church, the father being a Deacon in the church wherever he resided, being an active, intelligent, and earnest member of the church. He died in 1854. Of the ten children all reached maturity, except one, who died in Addison. a son John was a soldier in the late war, and was taken ill, went home on a furlough and died in 1862. The surviving chilren are N.. Dyer Rowley of Corning, N.Y.; Ezra Rowley, of Big Flats, N.Y.; V.E. Rowley, of Des Moines, Iowa; Frederick and C.E. Rowley; Mrs. R.D. Jackman, Mrs. J.R. Jackman, and Mrs. C.C. Pettibone, all of Nunda, Ill. On the late Thanksgiving the eight children sat down to dinner with their venerable mother, who greatly enjoyed what proved to be the last family gathering. Mrs. Rowley was greatly beloved by her children and grand-children. she was worthy of priase in all the relations of life.
